LIFE COACHING =
LIFE CHANGING

Guidance for teenagers and young adults through life's confusing stages and challenges

stack of cardoard boxes reading: breakup, work, anxiety, problems, stress

THIS JOURNEY CALLED LIFE

The ages that individuals make the most critical decisions in their lives are usually between 12 and 25 years old.

During this transition, they decide how they want to use social media, who to be friends with, who to date, whether they want to be intimate with someone or not, experiment with drugs and alcohol, party, whether to study or further their education. All these and more are real-life pressures and standards that are set by their peers, friends, family, social media, and even themselves.

This journey that we call life is not easy. Teens and young adults are faced with many unique challenges that bring up many stressors such as insecurity, anxiety, loneliness, stress, and fear. While some teens and young adults can manage these, others struggle to make sense of it all and it can lead to more stressors and bigger challenges in their lives.

With these stressors in play, many parents and caregivers feel like they are unable to adequately support or help their teen/ young adult – feeling defeated and powerless to help them move forward. They may offer guidance, advice, and support for their teen/ young adult, but it may be met with rejection, defiance, and simply not taking any of it seriously.

Life Coaching can help your teen/young adult(s) with:

Academic Pressures / Achieving Goals / Coping Skills / Dating+Relationships+Change

Family Connection+Communication / Friendship Connection+Communication

Healthy Communication / Self-Esteem+Self-Confidence / Self-Empowerment+Self-Motivation

Setting Boundaries / Stress+Anxiety / Social Isolation & much more.

HOW WE START:
THE BREAKDOWN

1/ Discovery Call

A complimentary 30 minute phone call to discuss and ask questions about how ICD Life Coaching works and find out how Isabelle can best support your teen/young adult.

2/ Intake Session

3/ Meet & Greet

A 60 minute virtual or in person meeting between you - the parent/ caregiver(s), the teen/young adult, and Isabelle - to discuss the Coaching Agreement which includes important information before the coaching begins. 4/ Coaching Begins!

As scheduled from the “Meet & Greet” meeting, Isabelle will meet with your teen/young adult for their first coaching session. During this time, Isabelle will build rapport, empower them, and focus on their strengths and passions… and let the rest unfold in further coaching sessions.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN COACHING AND COUNSELLING?

Coaching is a goal orientated, solution- and future-focused practice, where the client is challenged to come up with their own goals. Working collaboratively with the coach, the client is able to recognize, navigate, and learn how to move forward to achieve their goals, dreams, and desires. Different outcomes are discussed, and the client is encouraged to make their own decisions. Coaches believe that each client has many of the answers within and are assisted by the coach to find their own solutions to overcome any personal challenges and roadblocks.

Counselling is the opposite of this – it is often past and problem-focused. It focuses more on the client's feelings and emotions and helps to resolve past issues. Counsellors are able to give advice and recommendations to their clients and can also diagnose and complete clinical treatment on them.
